I write this article hoping to help you for your next trip.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For my first time in Mauritius,<\/strong> it was difficult to make a choice among all the 5* hotels on the island. But my choice finally fell on the\u00a0 Shangri-La Touessrok<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was obviously looking for white sand beaches<\/strong> because some beaches in Mauritius are very rocky. A contemporary decoration in the rooms, and especially that this hotel is both intimate and in connection with the environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The big plus<\/strong> that made me choose Le Shangri-La is all the vegetation that surrounds it, and the Mang\u00e9nie islet<\/strong> that is in front of the hotel, five minutes away by boat shuttle (they are free and there are some every 20 minutes).<\/p>\n

You can spend the day on this islet and have lunch there for free, but what is even more exclusive are the private cabanas<\/strong> (at an extra charge) where you can feel like Robinson Crusoe.<\/p>\n

There is a package<\/strong> where for about 150\u20ac, you spend the day and lunch is included<\/strong>. It includes a bottle of ros\u00e9, a truffle pizza with a salad and fruits for dessert.<\/p>\n

We quickly changed the pizza against grilled lobsters which are really excellent.<\/strong> We eat with our feet in the water and it’s simply heaven.<\/p>\n

For golfers this is the hotel to choose,<\/strong> you will have access to the most spectacular golf courses in the world:\u00a0\u00a0l’Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0& l’Anahita Golf Club<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another big positive point is the different beaches of the hotel for lounging and the deckchairs<\/strong> that are widely spaced make the stay really unique.<\/p>\n

The hotel has 4 restaurants<\/a> :<\/strong><\/p>\n

A beach restaurant<\/strong> (Republik Beach Club) which is perfect to have fish, chicken skewers, a good salad.<\/strong> From time to time there is a band or a DJ and it is really pleasant.<\/p>\n

The Kushi, a Japanese<\/strong>, with a superb decoration and the sushis are good.<\/p>\n

Safran, an Indian restaurant<\/strong> with a view on the outside and an orchestra playing every night but the food could be a bit more refined.<\/p>\n

Le Bazar, a restaurant with a delicious buffet<\/strong> that we did the last night and that is really upmarket in terms of selection, but more expensive than the others.<\/p>\n

The hotel also proposes a theme evening on the beach<\/strong>, which is not unpleasant.<\/p>\n

As for the service, there is nothing to say, they are adorable and really want to satisfy us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It would deserve however some renovations in some places.<\/strong> What shocked us the most, it is the lobby when we arrive the first time, it is really outdated, the furniture also and we were even afraid to be completely mistaken on our choice of hotel.<\/p>\n

There can be also during your stay, the low tide<\/strong> what prevents you from swimming at the end of the day.<\/p>\n

But rest assured, apart from that, it is a hotel that ticks all the boxes we are looking for.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As an activity,<\/strong> I advise you to take a helicopter tour to have a global view of the island.<\/strong> It is absolutely beautiful. I wouldn’t have the same perception of Mauritius at all if I hadn’t done it. We had booked and privatized the helicopter via Mauritius attraction<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everything is quite far<\/strong> and it avoids you to lose several days to visit everything.<\/p>\n

We did not make excursions by boat but do not hesitate to make some, it seems that it is very beautiful.<\/p>\n

We stayed 8 days<\/strong> but we could have easily stayed two days more.<\/p>\n

As for the weather, the best season to come is October, November and beginning of December.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After there are still risks of cyclones <\/strong>so you have to cross your fingers. For the record, we had booked 2 years ago and we had to turn back in flight because the airport had just closed because of a cyclone. So we flew 9 hours for nothing and we were back to square one on December 31st at 8am!<\/p>\n
