There is so much on offer now in Saint-Tropez that I hope this list will be your guide to dining in the best restaurants.
For a chic and relaxed atmosphere :
An elaborate Italian cuisine but still authentic. In a decor worthy of a real Italian piazetta. We always spend a good moment there. We love the Scrocchiarella terra (Bresaola, rucola, candied tomatoes, parmesan, lime, olive oil and rosemary), the Saint-Pierre d’ici, zucchini and olives, the pasta in the parmesan wheel, etc.
Exceptional decoration inside and superb terrace with sea view at the Château de la Messardière, which has been taken over by the Les Airelles group. The food is even better than at Matsuhisa in Paris. We like the spinach salad with truffle and miso, the grey shrimp tempura with spicy sauce, the new style salmon sashimi and the salmon tartar on crispy rice which is much better presented here than in Paris.
The place has moved and replaces the Ferme d’Angèle and it’s a dinner in an open air garden, it’s beautiful! An atmosphere in the same spirit as in Los Angeles, but with the French Touch it’s even better!
The food is always so good. I’m a fan of their tuna pizza with truffle tarama and shrimp tempura californias.
Caviar Kaspia has replaced Kinugawa at the port and caviar lovers are bound to have a good time there.
Recently taken over by the group Les Airelles, there are only a few tables on the terrace, and I love the intimate atmosphere and the excellent Italian cuisine.
To enjoy the sunset, this extraordinary sea view and a menu with very good products. I loved the grilled gyozas of poultry and vegetables, the black cod marinated in miso and the californias with various flavors. For dessert, I recommend the roasted pineapple to keep it light.
Really charming restaurant that opened last year at the end of the port. It is the perfect place to dine as a couple, with family or friends when you are looking for simplicity and gourmandise.
We enjoy the sunset and we fall for the truffles croques monsieur. The carpaccio of scallops and sea bream with pistachio. The filet of beef rossini (as a special dish) and of course, the Frozen Yogurt Lapérouse to be composed with the ingredients of your choice.
A very nice discovery! Thomas Danigo, chef of the Galanga Paris has taken over the kitchens of the Hotel La Ponche. We eat in a pedestrian street and we enjoy the sea view, the warm atmosphere and a gastronomic menu that remains accessible.
I was conquered by :
- The ceviche of sea bream, citrus fruits and coriander basil sorbet,
- The gazpacho of peas, mint and basil, fresh goat cheese,
- The traditional rock fish soup,
- Red mullet in portfolio, stuffed zucchini flower Provençal style, harissa and strong juice.
- And roasted apricots with lavender honey, almond crumble and pine nuts, ricotta and lavender ice cream. An address not to be missed.
An institution with always a beautiful clientele. You know why you come here and you already know what you are going to eat. The crab salad, the beef fillet with pepper sauce, the spaghetti cacio e pepe with tuna tartar on top, the burger or the ravioli with truffle and to finish, the huge chocolate mousse.
A restaurant that is not talked about enough and that deserves to be known! Damien Cruchet works with local producers, the vegetables and fishing are located less than 15km from the hotel. His cooking is really delicious, I succumbed to the carpaccio of lobster, to his declination of zucchini flowers with ricotta, to the breaded veal grenadin, to the cheeses of the Pastourelle farm as well as the strawberry pavlova.
We come there to enjoy a breathtaking view, to enjoy the sunset with the orchestra that takes the place of the cicadas to lull us for an evening. Obviously, being a great admirer of Vincent Maillard‘s cooking, you can go there with your eyes closed.
For a festive atmosphere:
The best parties of the summer for me are at Indie Beach, they have changed chef, the food is very good and the parties with the DJ on the beach are in the same spirit as Scorpios in Mykonos. Ask about the parties which are unfortunately not every night, and reservations are required.
Noto : The restaurant has been taken over by the Annie Famose group and has moved to the port. It is for me a very nice festive restaurant and the menu is signed by a former sous-chef of Simone Zanoni, Emilio Giagnoni, so we eat rather well for this kind of restaurant.
Restaurant on the port, a delicious menu signed by Eric Frechon, music, atmosphere and we eat with our feet in the sand. One of my favorite places to meet and party.
Another festive address that I like a lot. You can eat oriental food, couscous, ceviche, gambineros, even those who want to eat healthy can find themselves there. Be careful with the bill, there are a lot of bottles added, and that’s a real shame…
Formerly Salama, then the Napoleon, it is now Manko which opened last summer. A really delicious menu, I loved the Baos chifa (fried chicken, cinnamon mayonnaise, and lime, pachikay sauce), the tuna with soy, the chicken with tari sauce, and the ancestral chocolate for dessert.
A lot of people love this restaurant, the singer sings old music and it’s nice. It’s less my style but I’m sure you’ll like it.
The gastronomic ones that will leave you with incredible memories:
Restaurants I need to try:
Villa Belrose, they have a new chef, Jimmy Coutel who works with the famous and successful Berlin chef The Duc Ngo and offer the “Club Indochine” with a menu that mixes French gastronomy and Indochinese cuisine.
